About the exam:
This is the final Module 2 & 3 exam to complete the Orange Rock Guitar Foundation course. Students learning the online course with Orange are recommended to take the Orange Rock Guitar Module 1 exam first before attempting this exam. The Orange Rock Guitar Foundation course is the equivalent to starting at Debut level and finishing at Grade 2. Students are marked by a professional guitarist and qualified examiner. Includes a free mock exam.
What’s in the exam:
The module 2 & 3 exam comprises questions from the following foundation course lessons:
- Power chords – Sara will ask you to play a random selection of power chord progressions from the course
- 1 Octave arpeggios – Sara will ask you to play a random selection of 1 octave arpeggios from the course
- Chromatic alternate picking routine – Sara will ask you to play a random selection of the Chromatic alternate picking progressions from the course
- Performance piece – Sara will ask you the name of your piece, the author(s) and the publisher, and to then play your piece
- Aural – Sara will ask you to play back a random selection of music by ear from the course
- Sight-reading – Sara will ask you to play a ‘not before seen’ random melody and/or chordal progression
- Theory – This will be presented as a timed multiple choice question page from the course
Materials used: All course materials used in the exam are available in the exam environment for download apart from your chosen piece. Orange are also offering all Foundation course materials and online courses for free.
